1st Island Guides - Term Round-up
As usual, it's been a busy first term back for 1st Island Guides! Here are some highlights from our past few months...
A little hike on the Wilson Trail, where we brushed up on our map reading skills and blew huge bubbles by making wands with sticks and string.
Lots of fun crafts, including an evening of making their own tie-dye shirts. Panda Pottery also came to do a relaxing evening of painting Christmas baubles with us!
Division camp weekend was jam packed. In addition to making gadgets, enjoying time together, singing songs around the campfire and eating s'mores, we ran some TV show themed activities. These were: a MasterChef competition for cooking skills, Survivor for camp skills, a Guiding themed quiz in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, make your own mocktail station in Love Island, battle of the newspaper costumes in Project Runway and a variety show in Bauhinia's Got Talent! Wow!
Finally, we ended the term with a visit to the University of Hong Kong AIDS Institute for World AIDS Day. Much thanks to Professor Chen and his team for welcoming us. It was an informative visit and we will be continuing to increase our knowledge through work on the badge.
We are looking forward to more fun and engaging activities in the new year!
